How does it work

Using a small needle – the size of a human hair – a solution known as a “sclerosing agent” is injected into the vein. The solution causes the lining of the vein to swell, shutting it down. The body will eventually absorb the treated vein.

How long is the treatment

Sclerotherapy only takes a matter of minutes, however several sessions may be required to treat spider veins.

Side Effects

The treatment may cause bruising, redness, sores, darkened skin in the form of lines or spots, or multiple tiny blood vessels. Patients may also experience inflammation that can be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers. Blood clots, air bubbles in your bloodstream and allergic reaction are also possible, but uncommon.
